Law_and_interpretation

It’s not unusual we get to hear that “the law is flawed” and “we need to change the law”.

Most often it seems that the law is OK.. it’s the interpretation of the law that sucks.

It’s almost impossible to write down law.. like it is almost impossible to write down a handbook on “how to walk”: 1) stand up, 2) lift one leg, 3) place the foot of the lifted leg ahead of your other foot, 4) repeat steps 1-3 with every other leg.

If you want to find a problem.. you will succeed.

What is ‘money given’? What if I lend it instead?
What is ‘gender’? Can we have more genders?
What is ‘harm’? Can it be the sulky feeling I have when someone contradicts me?

Then they change the law.. “to INCLUDE”.. but the only thing that happens is that the law becomes more and more a bog.

Law requires some sort of ‘good faith’. Something in the lines of “we know what the lawmakers tried to do or prevent”.
