Did you ever hear of Avoidance Personality Disorder?

The subject is neurotic about how he/she is perceived. The most important thing becomes ‘perception’.

I actually know a couple of people like that.

You heard the fable about the Fox; the Stork and the grapes.
In some versions the grapes are in a urn and the fox can’t get to ’em. In other versions the grapes grow too high on the vine.. and the fox has the same problem.

The stork.. with its long beak is not impaired by the handicap of the fox.

When the fox sees the stork feast on the grapes.. he reverse his failure with “The grapes are sour anyway”.

That is what a APD person does.

If he gets fired from a job.. “He got tired and is looking for new more existing challenges”.

If he get into financial problems and has to sell most of his cherished equipment.. he “just got tired of it”.

If his girlfriend breaks up.. he vows “He’s better off alone, and will never seek companionship again”.
